We can take of the masks and be real

We all wear masks at some point in our lives. This often comes from a place of fear-fear of what others might think if we were to show our true, authentic selves. By doing this, we believe we are protecting ourselves-when in reality, we are actually just closing ourselves off from authentic connections. "We can take off the masks and be real" is poetry that was written as if that fear didn't exist. These true, vulnerable poems were written as if no one was going to read them.
