Since the beginning of time, we have searched for an answer to the age-old question, "Who am I?" Well, what if the answer was right in front of us and all we needed to do was make one simple word change. Many of us remember being taught in the 3rd or 4th grade that we humans are consumers. For most of our lives we didn't challenge this idea. But in 2015 we introduced the idea that we are not consumers at all, we are really Producers. In fact, don't most of us believe we are made in the image of a "creator" or the "Big Producer"? This got us thinking - what is a consumer? Look it up. It means "to destroy." Certainly, we are not made in the image of a "destroyer". So why is this idea so important? You know the popular saying "we are what we eat" - well, likewise, we are what we think we are. When we think like a consumer we tend to categorize and commodify ourselves and others. Everything we do is transactional. "What's in it for me". We create a false sense of competition among each other. "I better consume you before you consume me". In this consumer mindset or consciousness, we always must be "better than" and, thereby, are always "less than" someone else. And, perhaps, most harmful is that we teach our children to be consumers by labeling them at an early age, focusing on one physical trait, talent or ability and ignoring all the other phenomenal outputs they produce. This book is the first in a series intended to teach a very simple language we call Producer Consciousness that both adults and children can utilize to understand ourselves for who we really are - Producers! It's a simple idea that we think can change things in a big way!
