"We Are Canadian", is a story written through the eyes of a Grade 3 student, Jules who moves across the country, finding home in a new an unfamiliar province. Jules is worried about making new friends in a new school, however his worries soon subside when he realizes just how friendly and welcoming his new classmates are. Jules is taught by his Grade 3 teacher Mrs. Melon. Mrs. Melon teaches the students about the 4 season in Canada and the students share with the class traditions and celebrations that are special to their families during these seasons. "We are Canadian" teaches seasons as well as about some of the traditions that are celebrated by Canadians. While this book only briefly touches on some of the many traditions that Canadians celebrate, we wish more could have been included. Look out for more great books to follow.
