Everyone is a biologist. We study life everyday. By observing the world around us and examining organisms, big and small, we all act like scientists gaining knowledge and understanding. The following reflections were written on day one of class. They are a look at how high school students see themselves as people who study life before receiving any formal training as a biologist. At the end of the year of rigorous study, these students will then reflect and share what they have learned and how they have gained skills as true life scientists.
