This vivid and dynamic narrative draws the reader in from the very start, not only due to the masterful storytelling and captivating plots. We watch a parade of different personalities and life stories, and conflicts caused by a choice made or the reluctance to make one.

There is a famous quote from Roman stoics: He who wants to go forward, will do so; he who doesn't - will get dragged. In some of the stories, the protagonists fight for their convictions, for the righteousness of the ideas that had determined their paths in life. In others, they fall victim to avoidance, misunderstanding, and blindness. Someone's life and home may be destroyed, not because they lost a battle, but because they refused to participate in it.

When your choice is driven by blind passion and instinct (as is the case for the heroines of some of the stories), it is a false choice. It is destructive not only for those directly involved, but also for everyone who's connected to them. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's better: to remain indifferent or to persist in your fallacies; though the consequences are disastrous in both cases.

The variety of characters and plotlines in this collection has one common stem: the issue of choice and identity. Everyone faces this problem, regardless of their circumstances or convictions. Each of us has to decide "Who am I?" and "Whom am I with?"...

The energy and impact of these texts lie in the author's focus on a specific issue that determines someone's fate and the sum of their achievements. Though dealing with serious subjects, the narrative is light and natural, sometimes humorous. The triggered "sore spots", however, do not leave the reader in peace. They encourage reflection and questioning yourself over and over.
