Waterworks is the story of two of the characters from Wednesday Night Yoga Group, who enter a new phase of their lives. Mark and Sara begin to fulfil Mark's dream of working in the field of water provision in third world countries, beginning in rural Mexico. Sara, his partner, is fresh from having left her previous career in advertising, and she's hungry to work in a more altruistic job. She is from Melbourne, Australia, the place where they met, and now she is entering Mark's life in California. Mexico offers exotic locations, interesting people and situations that are not as straight forward or safe as they first appear. Both Mark and Sara realise they have a great deal to learn and that what looks simple, may in fact be quite dangerous.Their travels range from the USA to Mexico, Panama and eventually back to Australia. The book is engaging, educating, engrossing and ultimately, a thoughtful, well-plotted, satisfying read.
