WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE CHURCH?

For a long time now, the Church in America has been in decline. While some 63% still claim a level of faith, a much smaller percentage actually agree with what the Bible actually teaches, especially in areas of what constitutes sin, what constitutes righteousness, and whether or not we'll face any consequences from God for getting it wrong. Consequently, the impact and influence of the Church upon culture - and especially upon non-believers - has been diminished.
What is needed is a faithful reexamination of what exactly it means to be the Church. A return to the fundamentals, if you will. Just like any art, sport, or other human endeavor where excellence is sought for and achieved, the Church in America must return to her biblical roots, to reexamine the original template to see how she must function to be faithful in this generation.
Drawing on the second chapter of Acts, this brief study examines the source material of the Christian faith, to identify the watermarks, those characteristics which must be present within a group of believers, or indeed any individual believer, to have the impact on this world they are meant to have, and still can.
