"Waterhole" is the second sequel (following "Seagull") and sixth book in the story of human telesentience entitled "The Few." It continues the story of the convergence of telesentience with cyber beings begun in "Seagull" and suddenly becomes a story of First Contact with beings from beyond the Solar System. The main character, again, is the young woman, M we Anton, strong telesentient, Asperger's affected, hyper intelligent, single mother, and member of the Telesentience Foundation. Strongly philosophical, M we epitomizes the anguish Earth's population has as it confronts global climate change, eerie mind-reading people, and the emergence of post-biological life on their planet. The arrival of beings from the Local Galactic Community is almost too much, but is it? It might be just enough. Clearly the world must change and the aliens may not be what we hoped.
