Great Local Cookbook

This is a great book with recipes that feature the abundance of local ingredients available. I've read other books by one of the authors written under her pen name "Selenmal".

delicious, gorgeous, and a bargain

I love this cookbook and have already made three or four recipes. Try the scallops! A huge hit with guests. It's easy to understand but still pretty sophisticated. Best of all are the introductions to each recipe -- usually boilerplate language in most cookbooks -- offer good advice and anecdotes about the local, seasonal ingredients featured in the recipe. Very inspiring. I also checked out the website of one of the authors ... [...] and found more info about when and where to find the local ingredients.

Very impressive, I am going to try many of the recipes-

I'm impressed. I really love regional cookbooks because the give a sense of not only what is going on in the local food scene, but also what grows well in the local farming community. This book doesn't disappoint. The recipes are innovative and fresh, without being over-the-top. While reviewing the book, I noticed that the authors kept the recipe contents simple. I don't see any reason why a cook in another part of the country couldn't make most if not all of the recipes. The photography is very nice as well. It really presents the book and the contents well.
