Good Christian Fantasy

"Warrior of the Son" is the story of a young boy Evan, sent to stay with his mother for the summer. While there he becomes acquainted with Julian, who calls himslelf a Warrior of the Son and a follower of Iosa Christus. Circumstances conspire and Evan is forced to flee for his life along with Julian from his half brother Osric, who is being manipulated by the priesthood of Moloch. As they live in hiding Julian teaches Evan the way of a warrior and the way of Iosa Christus. Goblins bring them out of hiding and they are separated, this time each choosing to go their own way. Evan sets himself on a path of vegeance, intent on destroying Osric. But along the way Evan discovers the one true God might just have a different path for him to follow. There is a strong Christian message in this book. Samuel Schiller does a great job of allowing Evan's character to develop from a spoiled boy to an angry young man to a warrior. This allows him to show us that even tho we might believe in the one true God, it does not make us perfect. The story itself is well written and the plot is well planned, though uncomplicated. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good christian fantasy book. A wonderful and exciting read!

I must admit, I did not expect much when I first got this book since it is not my usual style of book to read. However, Mr. Schiller caught my attention in short order and brought me "into" the story along side the characters. A mixture of Christian faith, sci-fi, and "Lord of the Rings". I was amazed at how smooth and seamless the storyline progressed. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

Hurry up and publish the second one!

After overcoming the excitment that a person I know published a book, I began reading Sam Schiller's Warrior of the Son. When I first started I was a bit skeptical, thinking that Warrior of the Son would be just like Lord of the Rings with a little Jesus thrown in. However, after reading the first two chapters I soon discovered that this was not the case at all...the book really has an aura all its' own. The fights are described in rather large detail, to a point where it's obvious that Sam has studied the way of the sword. Not only is the action excellent, but there's a deep spiritual theme to the book! In order to be fair, I should probably find one thing that I didn't like about Warrior of the Son....alrighty, here it is: I didn't like the mushy stuff! Stupid love stories always ruining the action... :-D Anywyas, I'm not sure if I'd eat it, but I sure as heck will recommend it to all my friends!

I just finished this book, and was spellbound. The mix of adventure, suspense, and just plain old good writing made it hard to put down. The building of the characters was masterful. I am anxiously awaiting the second book. Hurry!

Completely Wonderful

If you are a reader that enjoys a little humor mixed with a little fantasy shaken with a whole lot of fun, then this is the book for you to eat. If you like to read, then obviously this is the book for you to read as well. I suggest buying two copies so that you may eat one while reading the other.
