Review of Warman's Lionel Train Field Guide 1945 - 1969

This book is a good price guide and reference for anyone collecting, purchasing or selling Lionel postwar trains and accessories. The hundreds of color pictures of Lionel locomotives, cars and accessories should be helpful when attempting to identify individual pieces of Lionel equipment or when trying to determine their value.

great little book

When I first received this book I almost sent it back..its so small. I'm now glad I didn't, It's the book I look at most often. I also take it everywhere I go, It almost fits in your pocket

Not Half Bad

Quite useful for a quick check. Very useful for on line auctions to see if more investigation needed.

Great compact reference

This guide has everything in it that a collector of Lionel's postwar trains might desire - descriptions, values and best of all color PHOTOS! Though not as detailed as the Standard Catalog of Lionel trains upon which it is based, it non the less includes locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars, accessories, sets and catalogs - it even lists Lionel HO production. Though format is a bit different, but can be slid into my pockets - though admittedly I would have prefered the book have fewer, but taller pages. However, the color photos of so many items - there are hundreds of them - give this volume a definate edge over any of the other guides I have used over the past 25 years. This book definately rates as a "must-have" for the postwar Lionel collector.
