I have the original version

I have the original version which a friend gave me many years ago. I have no idea why he gave me the book and if he had ever read it himself. I simply placed the book somewhere in my house. I have been suffering from pains in the side of my head for 18 years. One day for some reason I picked up this book and starting reading it and could feel goose bumps and my eyes coming out of their sockets. I could not believe that I was agreeing with Jesse Penn-Lewis on so many of the heretical things she was accused of. The Spirit of God testifies to the truth- I started for the first time to realise that I was sick and that most of current Christianity had been the cause of the sickness. It was the beginning of a journey of seeking out the truth. After time the pains have gone and the book was a start onto a journey of unpeeling all the nonsense and lies taught by well to do evangelicals and charismatics, the many books and sermons I have read/listened to and the brainwashing that comes from psycological manipulation and human wisdom. Witchcraft and the spirit of the anti Christ is not about old women on broomsticks, it is about candy coated christianity that gives out some truth but also transmits lies together with it. Penn-Lewis teaches that it is God's will for us to doubt something that is not clear and plain, to test the spirits to see if they are from God. When someone speaks, they are in a spiritual mode and are transmitting things to you. If you do not feel encouraged, cleansed, empowered and your conscience has not been purged by the gospel being preached but instead you feel weak and confused even by the seemingly holiest and best of preachers, then you are receiving demonic spirits from them. These are mind twisting spirits making you think excessively and justify everything you do. They are dirty but masquerade behind "angels of light" I was too afraid to question every leader, every speaker and especially those who at some point in my life had transmitted grace by their words. How dare I stand up and say and think what my spirit inside me is telling me. Reading this book should give you some courage and help you quit being a coward in the face of the religious condemnation you are receiving. If someone is talking rubbish we must reject it and quit making excuses to protect their spirituality. There are many things in this book worth considering carefully. Take one of them for example concerning "dual streams" where truth is transmitted with lies from the sincerest of preachers. Have you ever wondered why most Christians have no liberty to discuss the things of God and those who do seem like fanatics? Why we can't we talk "normally" about the things of God. Why does it have to be hyped up in a church building? If God is in us.. then He is in our homes our lives and everywhere and God is peace and does not drive us into insanity or make us look stuipd or ridiculous in front of others. This book is not for the "weak" Christian! It is replete with spiritual truth that will overwhelm those who are not well grounded in the Word of God. The faint-hearted need not read it, for with it will most assuredly come trials from the enemy of your soul who does not want you to appropriate these truths. I've read and studied both the abridged and the unabridged versions, and would recommend either - the abridged for younger (in the Lord) Christians, and the unabridged for those ready and able to handle the "meatier" spiritual matters. Arm yourselves, men and women of God, with the truth of this book and go out to do battle in His Name and by the power of His blood!

The best book on demonology in the world

I have experienced a number of things Jessie Penn-Lewis wrote about in War on the Saints. There is no other book in the whole world, that explains in such detail, demonic supernatural experiences that look like Divine experiences, but are not from God. I will quote something from the foreword of the 7th edition of the original text: "There are other books dealing with the subject of demon influence, but from a different point of view. They relate specific cases and their cure or attempted cure. War on the Saints, however, deals with the nature of the work of demons and their methods and tactics. It is the only book on this important subject." So publisher, keep publishing it, the original text that is!
