Ingeborg was born in 1937 in Munich, Germany. At one month old, she was abandoned by her birth-mother and boarded out to Wittelsbach am See, a foster home on the outskirts of Munich. At seven years old, she outlived the strafing of fighter-planes, and then the invasion and occupation. Ingeborg survived Catholic School, German Trade School and ended up at seventeen living on the street where she was rescued by her future husband, an American airman. She became pregnant and was forced to marry, before stepping up the ladder of a TWA and whisked away to America.
