Classic icon!

Long movie(like the book!)& hard to follow(like the book)but well done with good acting. It can be confusing if u aren't a history buff,which unfortunately too many haven't a clue! I'd say you need to watch it atleast twice(& read the book!)to really appreciate the scope of the story which ofcourse is theatrical license applied to a novel that is acceptably historical fiction,so we get a movie around a love story,tragedy,youth growing up, with some Napoleon thrown in & a war. The HOLLYWOOD touch is there on full display with gorgeous costumes, gowns&crowns! Audrey Hepburn as always,was stunningly feminine& beautiful. HenryFonda's part was well done but I am so used to seeing him with a more rugged look he seemed ill suited in this part to me. It is a classic movie based on a long respected,popular novel that's probably been read by millions by now. I loved it? Liked alot better but it is worth your time to watch a movie with some perspective on the wars men fight both on battlegrounds & in their hearts.
