'Wandering Maeve' is a collection of memories of my early life.In 1938 my father, a pharmacist by profession, moved from Ireland after the births of myself and my sister Angela. He was one of a large Irish family and by this time most of his siblings lived in London. Blissfully unaware that World War II was about to break out, my parents moved to London to join them. We lived in Hackney for a year and from there we wandered to Kent, North Wales, Birmingham and then back to Ireland.I loved all the new places and experiences of my childhood, memories of which would often flash into my adult life when least expected. On purchasing my first typewriter, I was inspired to combine two loves of my life, writing and typing and I set about putting into print my childhood memories. Over a period of forty years or more, I have spent many hours writing, re-writing, recalling and adding further reminiscences to my 'printed memory bank'. I hope that these will entertain and bring as much enjoyment to the reader as they have to me.
