In March of 1984 I was given a vision and hearing test for the first time. I was in the First grade.

At the conclusion of the testing, myself, and Nineteen other students were enrolled into the G.A.T.E. program.

By 1987, twenty students turned into two. My father withdrew me from the program before Christmas vacation.

That left Andrew the only student in the program. Come January Andrew disappeared and was never seen again.

Thousands of students were a part of the G.A.T.E. program from the 70s to the 90s across the United States but this is my experience alone.
