A wonderful armchair adventure!

When Robin Neillands falls off a horse he decides that his next adventure should be more "down to earth" -- so he decides to walk across France. Neillands is a master of description: the reader feels as if they are walking along with him through 700 miles of French footpaths and backroads. Together we explore villages and castles, suffer sore feet, stay in simple countryside inns and enjoy exquisite french cooking and wines. This is armchair adventuring at its best. I have read it several times and get something new out of it each time.
