Beautiful nature writing and illustrations

I found this book among in my mom's dusty library years ago . . . I nabbed it so I could share it with my kids. it got lost during my many moves and I was thrilled to find a copy here. Reading it with my kids brought back so many memories of growing up in a rural area and being completely awestruck by nature . . . it inspired many of our adventures together that we will continue to cherish. I also loved the feeling of connection between the children and their parents and I loved the feeling of connection with the land, and the ability to find beauty anywhere. I preferred the pencil illustrations in the original book. I am amazed that this book isn't more widely loved. Hoping for the next edition for a brand new generation of nature lovers.
