Bored and frustrated with life in a small Mexican town he's growing up in, Saul Ramirez tries to convince his practical joking grandfather and his own father that he is ready to make a trip across the border. With some prodding the men agree and the three generations set off on a trip filled with obstacles and dangers. Dehydration, wild animals, and the ever roving eye of the border patrol stand in the way of Saul entering into America through Texas and into a whole new world. After the first try ends in disaster, Saul becomes even more determined to find out what sort of life he might find in the North.
