Maddie's Magic Markers Rock!!!!

I intended to read this book to my children, but was so captivated by it that I read it myself! Maddie is a charming and capable character. A great role model for any young girl or boy. She takes her reader on a journey through history and she keeps them laughing all the way. I would highly reccomend this book to readers of all ages!

Great book - educational and entertaining for all ages!

Even though this book is primarily recommended for readers aged 9-12, I read it aloud to my 5 year old, and he loved it. He couldn't get enough and would beg for me to read "just one more chapter" every evening at bedtime. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to provide a history lesson while we followed Maddie's fun and exciting adventure. Author Lopez relates well to his young audience with his creative style narrated by the spirited Maddie. We will definitely continue to follow this series as new books are released. I highly recommend this book for readers of all ages!

Entertaining and Educational!

Move over Magic Tree House, here comes Maddie and her truly magical markers. This is a great book for young readers! History, adventure and humor to match. This is the beginning of what will eventually be a twelve part series featuring a young girl named Maddie and famous women throughout history. In this story, she comes face to face with Cleopatra, as well as a crocodile, a snake and a runaway prince. I look forward to reading part two and I am sure you will after you are done with Walk Like an Egyptian!
