Truly a Teacher's Toolbox Treasure Chest

For grades 7-12 this is one at your fingertips all -in-one "comprehensive guide to understanding literature." The 117 pages do not skimp and are organized first into 3 sections: Basic Tools (11) e.g. conflict, plot, mood,senses, setting, characters-not in that order, Figures of Speech (14) and Poetry Tools (21). It is a joy to have the benefit of permission to copy these short gems, although don't interpret 'short' as easy or slim-they're jam packed with tasteful, occasional and attractive graphics. There are exercises with answers at the back, teaching tips galore for each section and multiple quotes from the classics such as Browning,Blake, Whitman, Wordsworth,Kilmer, Helen Ruth Bass. There's no fear to mention the crucified one either which was another plus Morris, Kipling, Thayer, Ogden Nash too. Don't leave home without it if you're a language arts teacher or substitute teacher or student teacher.
