In the early 1900's a teenaged boy dreamed of adventure on the high seas -- not of swash-bucklers and pirates but of radio operators saving lives with the wonderful new invention, the wireless telegraph. The true story of a Marconi man and his adventures at sea and in the Med during World War I.
Very interesting book about early wireless on ships

Very interesting book, and a quick read. Hard to put it down. Loaded with historical facts, journal entries and pictures, yet written first person in like a fictional book, even though it was written by his daughter years later. Lots of interesting small details about being on a coal powered merchant marine ship under attack in WW1, and going ashore in Europe. Many interesting facts about early wireless telegraphy for ham radio or shortwave enthusiasts as well, as this was also about the period when shipboard wireless was first mandated after the titanic sinking, and operators were in short supply.
