Waiting for Kafka, is the third book in a trilogy, that follows Escape from Tirana and Stories from Izmir and Beyond. The intent of my first two books were to keep the history and cultural heredity of my family alive. With this third book, I attempted to re-connect with my European roots and cultural background. In the summer of 1999, I ventured around the old continent alone, using trains as my main source of transportation. This gave me the opportunity to write my diaries during travel times. I focused on art, history, and personal experiences to get to know various travel companions and locals, many with interesting stories to tell. I also wanted to share my travel experiences with my readers. Herewith, I wrote down my memoirs, and along with my camera, I captured my personal view of beauty, and the passion for photography. The stories told in this book are a reflection of my own view point and a search for a universal language, that is, the language of Love. At the beginning, my intention was to immerse myself into European culture, but I ended up diving in head first.
