Touches my Heart and Soul

Letha is someone I met a few years ago and asked me if I would read some of her "poems" that she wrote from time to time. I found that every time I ready one I could not wait for the next one. She always hits the nail on the head for me. She truly expresses the thought and content and spirt in a way that is so beautiful and so simple. She truly shines in God's love. I am so thankful the finally printed what she has been writing over the years so that others may share in this joy. She touches on every part of being human ... the good and the bad ... the dark and the light. She writes with divine intervention.

pure delight

This delightful little book is divided into three parts. The first part puts each of the 150 psalms from the Bible into a three line haiku form. This is a great idea; each one is fun to read, and may lead one to go on to read the psalm itself. The second part of the book consists of short poems written on different occasions, such as On Doubt, On Freedom, When Faced with Death, or A Wedding. The third part of the book consists of poems and short writings written on different days of one year. Most notable are several versions of Psalm 123, rewritten by the author in different poetic forms, two different sonnets, as free verse, and as haikus. This book, is, as is suggested in the title, a gift to the reader, consisting of wisdom acquired over a lifetime by a quite remarkable woman, indeed. It is a gift that, I may predict, will speak directly to you, just at the appropriate time, just when you may need to add a little of her wisdom to what you have collected for yourself so far.

Darkness! A gift?

Letha dives down to the darkness we all dread. There, apart from our superficial religious politics, critiques of beliefs and practices, and from our activism with expectations of certain results, she leads us down to where all is well; where we are well. The darkness allows us to become detached so we can discover the beautiful depth of our being that is so loved by God. Allow Letha to lead you briefly and through many situations, in her beautiful poetic style, to the goodness that is unnamed and uncontrolled: that is God within us.

Wait, Beloved, for Darkness's Gift

While reading this spiritually indepth collection of verse....I couldn't help but think of David as he wrote his Psalms. Letha too takes you on a personal journey of life and love of God. Her writings open your heart and spirit in new ways. She inspires renewal of your communion with God during times of stuggle that become times of inspiration. This beautifully written book is a wonderful source for meditation as well as spiritual food for personal retreats. You will want to keep this book close by as it will become part of you. A definite must for all who seek the presence and presents of God.
