I loved this book. The writing was flawless and the characters were wonderful. The illustrations were lovely too. You can almost feel the hot desert winds as you read it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves horses, stories about the mid-east, or just a great book. I'm looking forward to the sequels.
This should be "required reading" for all horse people!

More than a wonderful treatment of the story of a legendary and REAL mare, this is an insight into the spirit of the Arabian horse that even Walter Farley did not capture. I know from 20 years of association with the breed that ever facet is true, particularly the relationship between the Bedu (Bedouins) and their mares. Two of my foundation stock are descendents of this mare, as much as I treasured them before, after this book, my respect and love for them has gone to a new level.
If you cherish a bond with your animal this is a MUST read!

Wadduda of the Dessert reminds me of Marguerite Henry's King of the Wind. Both true stories! Both about one's love and complete understanding of one's horse. An interesting aspect of Bedouin life and past history and their love of and nuturing of Arabian bloodlines. I highly recommend Wadduda for anyone who is passionate about horses.
Sensitive, well-informed, compassionate.

Wadduda and Saied are names which will live to the ages. Talk about a classic, this is one in our time. Having lived in Arabia, I can appreciate the relationships depicted. It's great, and not only for kids.
