This splendid poem presents multiple benefits of what God has made known about life, about his world. When he wrote it, the psalmist used different words to capture truth. Biblically, "way" is related to making something visible, as a path is illuminated by a streetlight. With God, this happens when he speaks. With its focus on what brings light, this word emphasizes the uttering more than what he says. As we journey through life, we can depend on God to communicate immediate guidance for any situation, especially along a new or uncertain part of the path.
