Voices is the follow up to his 2024 collection Person You Can Love. This new, generously filled volume continues the combination of accessible expression with an experimental edge, emotional intensity and variety of tone and subject matter that have been the hallmarks of his poetry over the last two decades, while widening the ambition of the poems still further. It spans the spaces between the alien presences in Ashikta and Of Creature and Ocean and the fearful portraiture of Big Man in the Corner and View from the Fourteenth, taking in narratives such as Lady in the Dun Suit and so much more on the way.
Interspersed throughout the book are Amusements, a random selection of aphorisms on various topics. As their name suggests, they are designed primarily to amuse the reader.
