This is the third 'Vogue Knitting On The Go ' volume devoted to this favourite, easy, and portable project, and the first to focus on only crocheted blankets. It features more than 20 designs in a range of styles to suit every skill level, purpose, and occasion.
There are 24 baby blankets using a variety of yarns including cashmere, and cotton but all with that number indicating the weight category so one can substitute yarns. Each pattern has a difficulty rating as well and 16 of them are in the very easy level with only one being for beginner. Several are ripple or granny square type. The ones I liked to make are the Square medallion using Kersti yarn (dk weight), a pretty granny in orange, fuchsia and white, and a patchwork sampler in Tahki cotton classic. The trellis one in Karabella cashmere would make a gorgeous shawl if made wider. Some are done in intarsia crochet including one with ducks. The lace blanket started at the center in alpaca silk is interesting. The colors on this and on a few others such as shells blanket in black and white don't seem right to me for babies though. The bundle blanket is meant also to wrap the baby inside as it has crocheted drawstrings. The bunny blanket is in Lorna's laces variegated wool and has a bunny head. The stars and moon blanket is tunisian crochet with intarsia. There's a difficult cabled blanket and another in lace. Good mix and definitely one of the better ones in this series.
