The aim of this thesis was to visualise and analyse the link structures of websites. Optimising link structures is a significant factor because it enables Google and other search engines to offer their users the greatest possible added value. In practical terms, this means that websites which are classified as being of particularly high quality due to their numerous backlinks are given preferential treatment and therefore achieve higher rankings on search results pages. It is important to realise that the link structure can be the decisive factor in gaining an advantage over the competition. Equally important are the connections between the elements, which make the entire website a stable structure and enable an optimal user journey. With an optimal linking structure, you provide website visitors with a roadmap that guides them through the site and puts them on the best path to their destination.
