These colorful puzzles are bright, playful, and imaginative-and anyone who wants to ace these entertaining, inspirational IQ tests should be, too. They train you to think logically and see three-dimensionally, to use math to find inventive solutions, and to work creatively: in short, they both assess your IQ and help improve it. The eight types of problems include Odd One Out, where you have to choose from five alternatives to find the one that's different; Series, that challenges you to find the missing figure in a sequence; and Volume questions that ask you to compare one or several unfolded shapes with a three-dimensional figure. Take no more than one day on each of the 16-question tests, and remember...have fun while doing them.

The visual and colorful aspects make these puzzles some of the most challenging I have ever attempte

IQ tests are fun and challenging, but none more than the ones in this collection. As the title implies, the puzzles are visual in nature. To be more precise, they are very colorful, with the solution being based on your ability to discern differences in color and their relative locations. For example, on page 71 there is the side view of an umbrella. The canopy is segmented into quadrants that are of different colors. Your task is to use this evidence to determine what the umbrella looks like in a top-down view. Figures are turned, twisted and otherwise manipulated in repeated attempts to confuse you into choosing poorly. Solutions to all the puzzles are included. I found these puzzles to be difficult, largely because you must keep nearly all the information in your head. While you can write notes down for some of them, most require you to categorize the significant features and then do the comparisons mentally. For these reasons, I found them to be some of the most challenging puzzles that I have ever attempted.

Just fun

These tests are well-thought-out, visually appealing and challenging. This is a great way to pass commute time on the Metro.
