A Really Good Read

I just finished reading this book and was impressed it was a the author's first. Raine was a complex and sympathetic main character without being overly sweet as some are in series books. I liked that the plot didn't always head in the obvious direction even though I thought the main characters were a little blind to danger at times and (agreeing with the other reviewers), the issue of intimate protection was not handled well with regard to those dangers. That said, even with those imperfections, it was still the most ingrossing series read I have enjoyed in a long time, maybe because it was from a fresh voice and Raine's personal history was so realistic to me. I'm going to look for more books by this author right now.

A Virtually Perfect Read!!!

I very much enjoyed this book, and like the other reviewer, I can't believe that this is the authors first. What makes it stand out is not only the romance sweet & the sex hot, but it is a thriller to boot! Someone is stalking Raine and although there is no big surprise in who it is, it still makes for a great read. The only negative thing I have to say about this book is though while I am aware its fiction, when Raine & Jack first have sex he trys to get protection on and she says not to worry, shes on the pill. Hello? The pill ain't going to protect you from STDs... Anyway, its fiction and in fiction everything will be ok!!! A very enjoyable and virtually perfect read...

Unbelievable First Book

It is hard to believe this is the first novel published by the author. The characters are complex and the author explores their insecurity and aspiration to the fullest. Very romantic and enjoyable read. I look forward to other books written by Ms. Hunter and hope they will come out soon.

interesting cyberspace relationship

In Salem, Massachusetts, Raine Covington detests the constant come-ons of males and avoids any social activity outside of cyberspace or office functions. At the office computer guru Jackson Harris is attracted to Raine, but feels she thinks he is a roach so he keeps away from her except when he works on her machine.Rider and Nilla met on line, but not in person. They are attracted to one another and Rider wants to meet Nilla in the real world. She hesitantly agrees to a rendezvous. However, when Rider and Nilla see one another, they do not see blossoming love, but instead Jack and Raine. Jack knows he must persuade his Nilla that they belong together, but she cannot reconcile the bug with her "lover".The cyberspace relationship is cleverly done so that the audience observing the chats believes something special is occurring. Rider-Jack is a wonderful protagonist in both personas while Raine fails to come close to Nilla as she holds her beloved culpable for being Jack as if he set her up. Still fans will enjoy this virtual romance that can turn perfect if Jack can convince Raine that he really loves her.Harriet Klausner
