A virtual educational model is proposed based on learning and knowledge technologies and empowerment and participation in the Higher Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, which includes the preparation of teachers through a strategy that is oriented towards the training of pedagogical, technological and communication skills, structured in several phases where the teacher is trained to work in this modality. The model is structured in a systemic way for the training of professionals at a distance in engineering careers. The Knowledge Management component is based on learning analysis and data mining, which guarantees the continuous improvement of the model and the constant updating of its characteristics according to the behavior of the main users of the modality: teachers, students, and from the new approaches to education such as contextualization, management of expert and experienced knowledge and the socio-training approach of engineers of the 21st century, which is a novelty in this type of educational models. A procedure for the implementation of the virtual educational model is elaborated.
