The story builds as a jigsaw with several suspects, each one with different characteristics that make them good suspects. The storyline follows the old classics when you had various suspects (very believable ones in this case) and you don't really know which one is the real killer until the end. I found myself thinking this guy is the culprit, not that guy, but wait could be the other one. As the story unfolds you can start eliminating suspects. You can follow Jack's line of thoughts (Jack is the profiler helping in the investigation) and reach your own conclusions. It was a nice reading. One minor setback in my opinion is seeing "passive Jack" going on a manhunt wearing night goggles and a balaclava. Not very likely, but the book was way too good to get less than 5 stars because of this.
