William Henry Harrison High School is in the middle of the Virginia suburbs where nothing ever happens. Then one day, the orchestra hears about a competition for a chance to play at a prestigious music hall in New York City. Suddenly, the group of misfits sets on a journey to musical perfection--or at least competency. They have the raw talent, but when a racist against violists director, a couple messy relationships, and some terrible viola jokes are added into the mix, the outcome seems a lot more uncertain.
