Vindictam: Death of the Dwarfs

By Terry Fricker

The ratten are weak.
Driven from their home by the age-old enemy, banished to the shadows of dying tunnels, they hide in fear of those who despise them as vermin.
Dwarfs walk unchallenged where ratten once thrived. Humans and orcs hunt the lands the ratten dare not.
Ruled by a feudal caste that ignores their suffering, the warrens scream out for a leader.

Be careful what you wish for.

Vindictam answers their call. The old order is purged. The shattered swarms are re-forged. The ratten rise to reclaim their domain.
But Vindictam brings more than war.
The boundary between worlds is cracking. A hunger from the depths of darkness is watching.
Waiting.
Craving.
The time is close.
Something terrible is coming, and Vindictam knows the ratten cannot face this demon alone.

Meanwhile Tritchkit Overbite has devoted his life to avoiding all things exciting or stressful. He didn't ask to be assistant to the clan's most powerful runecaster. He didn't want to go on a mission through monster infested lands that almost nobody ever goes to and even fewer come back from. He didn't want to know what preys on the other side of a portal.
But a secret prophesy, a forgotten runestone and an eternal creature of the dark are nearing their time and no one asked him if he wanted to.

Vindictam is a story for everyone who likes a good tail.
