Beautifully and wonderfully written

I've not seen a Van Gogh biography quite like this one before. Callow describes Van Gogh's life in such an extraordinary way, a way that makes you feel like you knew Vincent. His emotions become your own, and his life story consumes your thoughts. Callow is able to draw you in and immerse you into the artist's mind. It's a truly wonderful book. One I'd be happy to reread again and again.
