Village Shuffle is the key trilogy of Volume 1. It is the pivotal introduction to the dynamics of Bamboo Village. The collection provides vital connections and insight into the lives of some of the most influential and multifaceted of its inhabitants. It also touches on Bamboo Village's complex relationship with its often confrontational offshoot, Glentis Village. Although fictional it sparks very nostalgic feelings, especially in those persons who have grown up on a Caribbean Island, namely Barbados, where the imagery can easily be compared to the reality of the period 1950s to 1970s and in some instances the present.
