Satan has done one heck of a job convincing those who are free that they're still enslaved. Enslaved to their wounds, flaws, fears, temptations, the feeling of being forgotten, alone and unworthy. For decades this was my song. My identity. I let the deceitful lies of the enemy (John 8:44) take root in my mind. I allowed the abusive words and actions of others to have space in my heart and dictate my emotions. My identity was found in my shame, guilt, wounds and the approval of others. Thankfully, Abba refused to leave me chained to my cage. The whisper of love gently awoke my heart to a new song and purpose: I am furiously pursued and loved by Abba. I am not talking about a human love that can be pushed to its limits, but a boundless, grace-filled, getting hit right between the eyes with a 2x4 roaring love.
