Verses in a Shoebox: A Poem A Day Keeps The Grey Skies Away

By Kelvin

A lifetime of poetry. A poem for every day of the year.

For more than sixty years, Kelvin has been writing poetry inspired by everyday life, love, laughter, family, friendship, and the wonderfully unpredictable nature of being human. Originally handwritten and carefully stored in a shoebox, these verses have now been brought together into one remarkable collection.

VERSES IN A SHOEBOX offers readers at least one poem for every day of the year, creating a unique literary companion to enjoy a little at a time. From heartfelt reflections on love and relationships to nostalgic memories, working-class observations, witty wordplay, gentle satire, dark humour, and moments of pure nonsense, every page offers something fresh to discover.

Warm, honest and wonderfully accessible, Kelvin's poems celebrate both the extraordinary and the ordinary, finding beauty, humour, and meaning in life's everyday moments. Whether a poem makes you smile, laugh out loud, pause for thought, or stir an old memory, each one reflects a lifetime of observation and a genuine love of language.

Perfect for dipping into daily or reading from cover to cover, VERSES IN A SHOEBOX is an uplifting collection that reminds us that poetry belongs to everyone.

A delightful companion for lovers of contemporary poetry, humorous verse, reflective writing, and anyone who enjoys celebrating life one day, and one poem at a time.
