Within Vermilion Cliffs National Monument there are exceptionally unique and seldom visited natural landscapes. The Wave is visited by tourist from around the world. As is the colorful and geological chaotic White Pockets. Buckskin slot canyon is the largest slot in the U.S. North Rim Grand Canyon is unique from the South Rim as it is not crowded. The western end, Tuweep, has the most dramatic view of the Colorado River.Kaibab Forest offers alternate views of the canyon that is really an extension of the national park's overlooks. Unlike Grand Canyon National Park trails, Kaibab Forest has a multitude of uncrowded hikes down to the river. Ancient Indian rock art (petroglyphs and pictographs) are abundant. The Arizona Strip is the most isolated area within continental U.S. almost void of human penetration. It has an area that is slightly larger than the state of Massachusetts.Within that vast area is Lees Ferry Colorado River crossing. It is the history of this area from Mormon pioneers to gold seekers. Our book is a combination of driving, hiking, mountain-biking and other tours such as rafting and horseback riding. There are suggestions of what to see and do for each tour.
