Veritas

Great book, I couldn't put it down. Read the entire book in about 3 days. This book really makes you stop and think about where we came from. Makes a lot more sense than either evolution or creation in my opinion.

Not easily forgotten

I found the story to be coherent, conversational, and thought provoking. The book is so captivating that once I starting reading it, I couldn't put it down. To coin a term from "The Tipping Point", the subject matter definitely has "stickiness". Not a book the reader will easily forget. Dan Murphy Las Vegas, Nevada

"VERITAS" or pure fiction?

In Veritas, author K.W. Hogan boldly dares you to consider an alternative explanation of the age old questions of why we are here and how we came to be on this planet. Hogan postulates that our earthly forbearers actually began their lives in an ultimately peaceful and even "heavenly" place. However, as part of a dark and clandestine, but very necessary plan they were induced into a coma-like sleep and as they awoke in a strange place, their new reality became a living nightmare and the very real terrors of human existence on earth commenced. They had descended from prescient and enlightened stock but as Hogan describes in his prologue..."By nightfall the fighting and killings had begun." But why? Hogan weaves an intriguing story that begins with a winsome character commiserating about his life when he is whisked away on an incredible out of this world adventure where he learns the shocking answers to those questions and MUCH more! Hogan uses the vehicle of a fascinatingly detailed "alien" abduction experience to introduce us to his vision of the higher powers behind the human drama. Hogan's protagonist, Ross Mitchell learns the real history of earth from his abductors who have from time to time selected individuals from earth to be brought to their original ancestral home to evaluate the state of human progress, and in some cases to enlighten them. According to Hogan's premise, Ross Mitchell is only one of a long line of humans making this fantastic trip, some of whom we call "luminaries" who used the wisdom they discovered on their own incredible journey to advance human civilization when they returned. Hogan's book can be read simply as interesting science fiction, and for that I give it an above average "4 out of 5," a VERY interesting narrative and high adventure. However, I give Veritas a "5 out of 5" for being imaginative and uncommonly thought provoking in the metaphysical sense. If your mind is firmly entrenched in traditional theological dogma, Hogan's underlying premise will undoubtedly infuriate you as he will dissect the very foundations of your faith and force you to consider humanity (and its origins) from an angle that you've never pondered. His thesis elegantly explains the fundamental flaws of human nature and the inhumane treatment we've historically inflicted upon one another. Is it just possible that Hogan has found THE KEY that unlocks the mysteries of humanity and explains man's nearly universal drive toward conventional theism? Personally, I think Hogan is an incredible and imaginative yarn spinner, but a wacko, crazy, lunatic! (hummm.....or..... is he?)
