Venice 1930. Three clients contact the Venier-Zanin law firm to discuss a bizarre clause in a loan contract: under the contract terms, borrowers are required to use a specific shipping company until the loan is fully repaid.

Rachele is sure that the connection between the bank and the shipping company holds the key to understanding that clause.
