Never a dull moment

At age thirteen Kenna Dunne witnessed her father murdered one night. Knocked out and left for dead she could not remember exactly who the killer was. She was rescued by family friend, Rhys Canning, who really cared for her. For years she had nightmares of that night and always saw Rhys as the murderer in her dreams, therefore she hated him and did not trust him whenever he tried to help her. After several life threatening occurrences happen to Kenna, Rhys has a plan to put an end to the danger Kenna has been in and in the meantime gets her to become his wife. Like most of Jo Goodman's books, this one is filled with plenty of interesting excitement, adventure and deep passion. Although Velvet Night isn't exactly a squeal to The Captain's Lady (originally Passion's Bride), the characters, Alexis Danty and Tanner Cloud play an important roll in this book.
