Veerashaivas who are also known as Lingayatas are the followers of the philosophy and practices put forward by Basavanna and his contemporaries of the 12th century of Common Era (CE/AD). Basavanna founded an Academy of Philosophers and Scholars in the city of Kalyana in Karnataka, India. Discourses concerning religion and society were held at this Academy. A new Philosophical System was developed, and practical implementation of the idea was carried out. This religious philosophy is a type of Theistic Monism, a belief that all is God and the Self is God. This book has extracted the essence of this Oneness Philosophy, and has given it in a concise form so that it can easily be understood.
