This book on Vedic Civilization is not about utopias or about an ancient Indian society. Vedic Civilization is the name that His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi gave to an ideal society living according to natural law so that no one had to suffer. He called it "Vedic," derived from Veda, meaning, knowledge of natural law. He gave the example of Rama's kingdom in The Ramayana, when Ram, the incarnation of God, defeated evil and lived in peace on earth among humans. Maharishi taught that this was not fiction; it could be achieved when humans were living at their optimal range of consciousness in enlightenment. He brought out the ancient Vedic techniques for culturing the human nervous system to achieve this state so there could be "heaven on earth." Maharishi's preparation and achievements allowed Avatar Master John Douglas to come in the present time with his Angelic Masters to further advance the human nervous system to experience the divine world. This is the evolutionary destiny of the human soul to live in the presence of the Creator, even on earth. The knowledge of how to get there is periodically revived when there is need. Master John remarks that Vedic Civilization rose and fell on this and other planets many times. This civilization is only given by divine beings and brought by them. It cannot be humanly constructed. The human has to prepare by an expansion of faculties.
