Increased international trade has led to growing concern about the more rapid transmission of animal diseases, many of which pose a significant threat to livestock in the United States and elsewhere. In this book a diverse group of scientists and practitioners explore the implications of these developments.The authors examine the connections between vector-borne pathogens and international trade. They describe recent advances in the prevention and control of diseases relative to animals as well as zoonotic disease.
