Joann became interested in 'words' at an early age. Having an older sister who aspired to being a school teacher, she was 'required' to learn to read out of self-preservation. She was published in 'free' papers at age 14, when the urge to create rhymes became overwhelming. More recently, the book '5 Smooth Stones' (Biblical incidents in rhyme) came about, also the saga The Lady on the Wall that is contained in Vapor and Flame.
She has a number of historical novels set in the Midwest during the time of the settling and just after the Civil War (that was not 'civil' at all). A trio of the titles are, Angel on Assignment, and Raindrops Fall, along with Bouquet of Stars.
