Vande shambhum umapatim A stotra of Shiva from Stotrarnava. The first verse of the stotra is really popular among the devotees of Shiva. There are multiple variations and alternate readings of this stotra. This stotra is also known as chidambaresha vandana stava and is found in the text Stotrarnava. This is a sweet, melodious and rhythmic hymn with ten verses chanted to gain the grace of lord Shiva. One of the ten verses eulogizes Nataraja the dancing god Shiva, and another verse praises the form of Shiva who destroyed the three cities. Various other divine pastimes of shiva like containing the poison in his throat, bearing river ganga, defeating andhaka demon etc. are also praised in this hymn. The hymn is musical and easy to sing.
