Reshma's mother was taken from Kandahar by childhood friend and sold her into brothel at age 12. Reshma read the letters of her mother address to grandma during this horrific captivity. Shock from this causes her loss of speaking ability by acquiring PTSD (A state of persistent mental and emotional stress resulting from injury or severe psychological trauma, usually involving sleep disturbances and persistent memory of the experience, with slowed responsiveness to others and the outside world. She wanted to herself her experience what her went though. This is her journey to freedom from PTSD and relive her mother's life help her regain a normal life by re-living her mother's life as close as she could.
