whether you're jewish or non-jewish, this book gives a thorough review of what it means to be jewish and what/why they believe as they do. divided into various chapters such as beliefs, holidays, and christian/jewish relations, it works as both an enjoyable "read" and as a quality reference. having worked for several jewish businessmen, and coming from an evangelical christian perspective myself, it taught me a considerable amount that enabled me to converse with with sensitivity and knowledge. the author, a fourth generation orthodox rabbi, writes with a flair and passion that communicated his love for his people, and an understanding of the suffering (and joy) they have experienced over the past many years
